Development Studies for Character, Objects and Environment
First Character
This was my first attempt try on what he will look like I did a quick sketch on what his features will be and had less detail and not as much shading.
Weapon
Weapon
This is the weapons I drawn on what the weapon my character might have and I experimented on what he might look like with it on.
Weapons/Guns
Weapons/Guns
There are some more weapon examples on what my final piece will have and I tried going beyond by imagining my character having a gun and also a different type of weapon like an axe.
First thought about the character
First thought about the character
This was my first thought on the character final piece that I might do so I had a quick sketch on what he will look like I had inspiration on a game called Dota 2 some of the characters on that game had some interesting features and I picked out this type of character but I thought it would be weird and wouldn't work out so I had to change my character into a warrior instead.
This is the final piece that I did on my environment I did a sketch on what it will look like I added trees, bushes, mountains at the back and also some rocks then a river I made it like a medieval theme type to make it suit the warrior since the game might be like a medieval type of game, for this one I looked at some games similar like Dota 2, Skyrim or Shadow of Mordor I took that inspiration by making the game more medieval and old.
Environment
Final Illustrations for Character, Objects and Environment
Final Illustration
This was my first thought about the character that I was going to do and I thought about it being my final piece put I would't workout on how large the character is and doesn't look as tough.
I based off mine as a warrior/gladiator that carries a samurai sword with an unknown face hides within the mask.
I did the weapons and thought about what type of weapons that my character might have and what will suit him and I thought of about the different types of weapons like a spear, axe, gun.
For my final piece I did a better version of the character I added more weapons on him and added an armor on his body and shoulder armor I also added some shading to make him look like more of a warrior.

Review
On our task we had an assignment was to design and also produce concept art as if we were working as a freelance concept artist and this mean that we had to first learn about what type of concept art is and why is it so important and also how it is produced and initially we had to talk about concept art and the purpose of it first we look at the character and objects and environment and talk about their process in being made and why were they made in the first place, I learned that the concept art is quick ideas constantly.
At these three concept art areas I had to think about making the concept art for a type of game of my choice, I ended up choosing about Dota 2, as it was really interesting on how the environment is very different as it was medieval. I also had experience with the game and played it a lot so I know what kind of thing to expect from this type of game and it's creators. After choosing this game I also had to talk about the ideas I had for the game and what I found interesting about it.
I started producing my own concept art and this involved looking at current units in the game like the weapons that the character uses and what the character looks like to come up with something new so I went browsing through the internet and look around for concept for the game units and as well as the story of the type of game and this gave me an idea of what kind of weapons to have on my character.
I also looked at ideas from other sources and lots of images I found came from different websites about each characters and features and I took that from all the different types of elements from their work such as the weapons and guns for my warrior and also looked at some film images like the last samurai and 47 Ronin this gave me the idea on what my character might look like. Then I started drawing different types of weapons on what it might look like and tried something different by drawing a gun to see what my warrior will look like but overall it didn't suit my character so I had to stick to the samurai, I drew more weapons like axes, spears to see if it goes well too.
I had the idea to put a mask on my character to make him an unknown warrior with a symbol of what he looks like as a hero I also added some gear to him with a couple of armour to make him a true gladiator also I gave him a lot of samurai's to show his true skills as he handles two in each hands I barely gave him armour at his upper body to show his muscular body to make him tough and added some pants to give him a symbol again on what he looks like and I was astounded by the new design as it really stood out and fit in well.
When I drew my concept art I used mostly free hand drawing with pencil instead of printing a picture and using tracing paper as it made me feel more free as I drew the character more freely, it gave me opportunities to edit my drawing and instead of just coping the type of drawing to be more unique. After all the ideas put together I came up with my final design with my character and background:

As you can see it has a lot of different features from all the different types of armour from the upper body, legs, shoulders and arms it gave me loads of choices on what to put on my character but I thought this really stood out on him more.
Overall I thought that my work I produced in the end came out well as I made some changes in the middle of my project and came up with new different ideas like the inspiration on my background I looked at some medieval places like games and movies this gave me the choice on what it will look like so I did a free hand sketch to show what my environment background looks like.
